Exhibition: YOUNG FORUM

Since 1996 the The Finnish Society of Crafts and Design, commonly known as Design Forum, has arranged a number of exhibitions featuring young Finnish Design. Scandinavian Design Beyond the Myth

Tonfisk was invited to the "Scandinavian Design Beyond the Myth" -exhibition that scans design in the nordic countries for the past fifty years. SEMINAR: Design Ireland Week 2003  

Design Ireland Week 2003 Seminar was organized by The Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI). A topic was "Scandinavian Design" where prominent Scandinavian Design companies presented their views. Brian Keaney represented Tonfisk in a group of speakers from other well known Scandinavian companies like SAAB, Bang & Olufsen and Schmit Hammer Lassen.

Designer's Cut - Documentary

Finnish designer Stefan Lindfors picked the brains of a number of designers on a late summer afternoon with his camera. The auteur presents a view into the core of Finnish contemporary design on a 13 minute film documentary "Designer's Cut". Tony Alfström and Brian Keaney were two of the designers among others asked to tell their view on Finnish design today. The film was shown at the Habitare´03 fair and on TV Nelonen. - European Design Show

Tonfisk is invited to participate in The Design Museum's exhibition celebrating the best of European contemporary design in Somewhere Totally Else - The European Design Show. This exhibition is the first of a series of biennial exhibitions featuring the most exciting and innovative design projects to have been unveiled in Europe in the past two years. The exhibition in Design Museum London opens on September 24th and is running until January 4th 2004.

The last 100 years of Finnish Ceramic history is both illustrious and inspiring. Now at the Designmuseo in Helsinki is an exhibition which details that history. Many Famous names of Finnish ceramics and design are represented, including Kaj Franck, Tapio Wirkkala and Timo Sarpaneva. And in recognition of its achievements in recent times, Tonfisk Design is also present. If you are in Helsinki from 17.1 - 16.3.2003 do go and see! 'A.W.
